What cars does it works on
This diagnostic cable is usable for ISO9141 and KWP2000 transmission protocol like used for Volkswagen/ Audi/ Skoda/ Seat. Here' s how to tell if it will work on your car:
EVERY 1996 or newer Volkswagen or Audi has this connector ( see picture, it might be a different color) . To make sure your car is compatible, just look for this connector. It is usually located under the dash on the drivers side ( near the pedals) , or next to the ashtray behind a small sliding door. Sometimes it is located in the rear ashtray. The one in the picture is a 1998 Audi. You must have this connector somewhere in your car to be able to use the USB KKL OBD2 Diagnostic cable!

What computer is required?
The only other thing you need is a Computer ( PC or laptop) with a serial port. Nothing else!
· Any PC running Microsoft Windows 95 or 98 or ME or 2000 or NT or XP.
· A working built-in Serial or " COM" port. Look at the pictures below to find out if you have a Serial port.
This is what a normal serial port looks like. This is the type of port used by the RS232 KKL OBD2 Diagnostic cable. You must have a serial port built-in to your computer or laptop in order to use the RS232 KKL OBD2 Diagnostic cable.
If your computer has no COM port, you may buy the USB KKL OBD2 Diagnostic cable.
